About Garry

“Listen to your life. All moments are key moments.”― Frederick Buechner

Therapeutic Approach
Garry provides a warm, welcoming and safe environment in which to explore problems in living.  He views each person as unique and worthy of respect and dignity, regardless of their values or beliefs.  He understands that we are complex beings, who are physical, emotional, rational, social and spiritual beings.
Garry takes a holistic approach in therapy.  He addresses the underlying issues to the current problem, whether they are recent or began in childhood. He helps clients learn and develop new and healthier ways of living.  Therapy may be brief, requiring only a few sessions, or longer if the problem is deep-seated or has affected the client for many years.  Garry draws on a variety of counselling therapies including Cognitive Behavioural, Family Systems, Attachment, and Emotion based therapies.
As a result of Garry's pastoral and business community experience, Garry understands the demands, challenges and stresses faced by pastors, business owners, managers and employees.  He has a heart for those who feel overwhelmed by their current situation or past experience.  He enjoys working with clients to develop healthy satisfying ways of living within their current context or helping them transition to new challenges and successes.
For those who are interested, Garry is a counsellor who provides opportunities for integrating faith and spirituality into their lives.  He also enjoys working with those of other faiths or those for whom faith or spirituality are not important at all.  Garry understands that the counselling process is a collaborative effort which meets the client's unique needs and desires for healing and growth.
